We prioritize factual accuracy, clear wording, and current sources. Product behavior, operating-system features, and version-specific details are checked against the most relevant first-party documentation whenever possible. Reputable secondary sources may be used when primary sources are insufficient, while user reports are treated as leads rather than standalone proof.
First-hand testing versus source verification
Physically tested means a shortcut or workflow was executed on a listed device and operating-system version. Source-verified means it was checked against current first-party documentation without a physical device test. Editorially reviewed means the published guidance was checked for clarity, source support, links, and version-specific limitations.
Chromebook guidance is Source-verified because no physical Chromebook is available. It is clearly labelled when it has not been physically tested.
Version-specific instructions and screenshots
Instructions and screenshots should identify material platform or version differences when they could affect a reader’s result. Screenshots are used to clarify a step, not to imply that a feature is identical across every device, release, or interface.
Product comparisons, affiliate links, and editorial independence
Comparisons should identify meaningful differences, relevant limitations, and supporting sources. Some links may be affiliate links and will be disclosed where appropriate. Editorial conclusions are not determined by compensation, affiliate relationships, or other commercial considerations. Potential conflicts of interest should be disclosed where relevant.
How to request a correction

Minor edits and material corrections
Credible reports are reviewed, but acceptance of every request is not guaranteed. Minor edits, such as spelling, grammar, formatting, or clarified wording, may be made without a separate notice. Material corrections receive a dated note where appropriate, and substantial factual changes are not silently presented as if they were part of the original version.
